Join the Hunt for the Black Whale with Arion Games!

Available now is a new adventure for Advanced Fighting Fantasy - The Hunt for the Black Whale.

Boarding a ship and hunting down a gigantic and dangerous Black Whale off the coast of the Old World is a tricky enough task, but the Heroes are about to find their task becomes even more difficult...

Written by Andrew Wright, and illustrated by Andrew Wright and Mike Tenebrae, The Hunt for the Black Whale takes 2-3 sessions to run, and is great as both a one-off or modified slightly to fit into any AFF campaign.

Inspired by Moby Dick, the story of Jonah, and even Jaws, the adventure sees the Heroes board the Questral, a ship hunting a monstrous Black Whale off the coast of the Old World.

There are various nautical issues and encounters, before eventually the Heroes are swallowed whole, at which point the interior of the whale becomes an organic dungeon. Can the Heroes survive, and how can they escape the horror of the Black Whale?

Fighting Fantazine #17

It may have been five years in the making, but Fighting Fantazine Issue #17 is here at last. In fact, it was released on the 40th birthday of The Warlock of Firetop Mountain!

Edited by Alexander Ballingall, the magazine features a cover by FF alumnus Tony Hough that teases the brand new FF adventure Barbarian Warlord, written by AFF author Andrew Wright, with illustrations by Johan Tieldow.

Barbarian Warlord is a fantasy epic unlike any other, but one that could only be published in a fanzine. Read it for yourself to find out why!

There is also the 'regular' Omens and Auguries news feature, the Arcane Archive, The Fact of Fiction, this time featuring The Keep of the Lich-Lord, and an interview with Dave Morris, one of the co-authors of the forty-third FF gamebook.

To top it off, there's the Rogue's Guide to Kharé and Kakhabad, and the second part of the AFF adventure, The Hunt for the Black Whale.

Fighting Fantazine Issue #17 is available as a free to download PDF but can also be purchased as a physical print copy. To find out more, visit the Fighting Fantazine website.

How does your Allansian garden grow?

With Nauk Fruit, and Niff Leaf, and Mudcaps all in a row?

Live now on Kickstarter is the latest venture from Arion Games, publishers of the Advanced Fighting Fantasy Second Edition RPG - The Titan Herbal, by Andrew Wright (author of Beyond the Pit).

Kickstarter is a tried and tested way of getting new AFF content to an eager role-playing public, the company having recently released Stellar Adventures, which takes your Advanced FF adventures into space and beyond!

There are only three reward tiers to choose from - PDF, softback and hardback - so, if a catalogue of 255 herbs, stats for plant monsters, and even new hero archetypes, sounds like your sort of thing, you know what to do...
