Advanced Fighting Fantasy - Bundle of Holding

Calling all fans of Fighting Fantasy and roleplaying games!

Bundle of Holding have resurrected their March 2017 Advanced Fighting Fantasy Bundle featuring Arion Games' Second Edition of the popular tabletop RPG based on the phenomenally popular Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, created by Steve Jackson and Sir Ian Livingstone.

The bundle includes the AFF Second Edition core rulebook, the Heroes Companion rules expansion, The Sorcery! Spell Book, and the bestiary book Out of the Pit.

Also available is the Bonus Collection, made up of six more supplements and adventures: the full-length campaign Crown of Kings; the Beyond the Pit monster book; the Titan setting guide (plus the Titan Map); the Blacksand! city book (and the Blacksand Map); and The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, a full-length RPG scenario based on the first and most famous Fighting Fantasy gamebook.

Because this is Bundle of Holding, 10% of each purchase (after gateway fees) of this Advanced Fighting Fantasy offer goes to the charity selected by Arion Games' publisher Graham Bottley, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

"In the area where I live it is a literal life saver," says Graham. "I very nearly needed it myself a couple of years ago, but it could not fly at night at that time. In the United Kingdom, these services are funded only by charities, and because there is a reasonable chance I may need it again, it is the main charity I support!"

Return to Allansia this Half Term

As no doubt any parent will be able to tell you, in the UK schools are about to close for a week for Half Term. If you're wondering what to do to help keep your children occupied, while limiting their screen time and not letting them completely forget the discipline of school, why not take a trip with them to Allansia?

Fighting Fantasy gamebooks have been proven to help improve literacy levels in children, but they also help with simple maths, including calculating probabilities, problem solving, and decision making.

Below is a selection of Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks that you might want to share with an apprentice adventurer this Half Term holiday.

Of course, when there is some permitted screen time, you could do a lot worse than check out inkle studios adaptation of Steve Jackson's Sorcery! epic, or Tin Man Games' Fighting Fantasy Classics* library.

* Tin Man Games have been producing Fighting Fantasy apps for ten years.

How to Paint Zagor the Warock - A Step-by-Step Guide

If you attended Fighting Fantasy Fest 4 in September 2022, you may well have seen Paul Cooke of Pandaemonium Miniatures live painting the Limited Edition 75mm Zagor figure that was on sale on the day from Atlantis Miniatures/Blue Giant Studios.

The model Paul painted on the day ended up being purchased by Sir Ian Livingstone, but since then he has painted the figure again and again, for himself as well as those clients who use his miniatures painting service.

Paul has now posted a step-by-step guide explaining how he goes about painting Zagor and has kindly given the Warlock permission to post it for fans of FF here.
